Safety and Education
The Peach County Sheriff's Office is committed to keeping the county safe in all situations and education is a key element of that mission. The Sheriff's Office presents the information in this section to assist with this education process.
Always seek help if you feel unsafe or unsure of your surroundings and seek assistance if you have been a victim of crime. Remember, potential offenders may also be acquaintances and know their victim. Most offenders hope to avoid confrontation or being caught, and choose targets that they perceive as vulnerable.
Parents play the key role in developing safe practices and are ultimately responsible for the behavior and safety of their children. Because isolated lessons and concepts can be quickly forgotten, repetition will help children remember standard safety procedures.
This information intended to help local residents avoid and prevent potentially dangerous situations. Its purpose is not to induce fear, but to create awareness and convey that “one ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure”.
While all of this information is helpful, the most important tip we can offer is to use common sense and to trust your instincts. If a situation feels wrong, it probably is. Do not feel foolish or embarrassed asking for help if you feel you need it. Any situation that causes you fear or concern is a legitimate reason for contacting the Peach County Sheriff's Office.
